Tickets for Tuesday’s Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles will be free, and those wishing to attend can register now on the offical website for a chance to attend the service. Is probably all gone by now, but good luck. Or you can stay home and save everyone else the traffic jams and road rage. Thank you.

A total of 17,500 tickets will be available for the 10 a.m. event, but only 11,000 will be released for the Staples Center.

A total of 6,500 tickets will be available for the Nokia Theatre, which is across the street from the Staples Center at L.A. Live. The venue will host a simulcast of the event.

Downtown Los Angeles streets will be closed surrounding the Staples Center, and those not holding tickets are urged to stay home and watch the service via the Web. The area surrounding the Staples Center will be blocked at Flower Street on the west, Olympic Boulevard on the north, Pico Boulevard on the south and Blaine Street on the east.

Registration will be open until Saturday, July 4, at 6 p.m. PST. A raffle will be held after registration closes. Succesful applicants will receive two tickets each, as well as details on how to pick up the wristbands, which will be distributed Monday.There will not be a funeral procession or as I would call it a Jackson Circus Parade
